About
Settler of Irish and Scottish heritage who has lived many places across Canada. My Grandma wore her clan MacPherson tartan with pride, although her family fled around 1750 after the Jacobite risings, long before she was born and settled in Antigonish. The Irish side of my family, Dunnigan and Cughan (via the United States), came later around 1850 during the potatoe famine. My Grandpa, Thompson ( MacTavish ) , felt very connected to his Irish heritage (although it appears they actually came from the Highlands and were also impacted by the Jacobite risings).
